Ever since the formation of the company, we have always been using Volvo trucks. When Trevor Matthews purchased the companies’ first ever truck, it was a Volvo F86, a revolutionary design for the time. This is a relationship which has blossomed over time, and this latest order for the new 2022 FH I-Save vehicles is another step forward for Matthews International Transport.

The new Volvo FH with I-Save is part of Volvo Trucks’ new European product range introduced this spring. I-Save includes many fuel-saving solutions, of which the most important is the Volvo D13TC engine. Volvo’s 13-litre turbo compound engine, launched at the start of 2019, is the company’s most fuel-effective engine to date
Cutting fuel consumption and, as a result, reducing CO2 emissions is crucial for us as a transport company, especially for long haul operations. With the new Volvo FH with I-Save, we as hauliers have an even greater opportunity to reduce our carbon footprint and environmental impact as a result of the more efficient engines.
